Welcome to the Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire Performing Arts Department Online Resource Site. This web site is designed both for volunteer actors working with our Faire and those who are considering doing so, to assist with registration, character creation and basic information about Faire including costuming, history and acting at Faire. Here you will find many useful resources, whether you are a novice actor considering working at a Renaissance Faire for the first time, or you are an experienced actor looking for current information on this year's upcoming Faire.

Though Faire is months away, don't think there's nothing to do! Off-season classes are listed in the Actor's Information section, including classes in Renaissance Dance, Swordplay and more. Our gracious volunteers will make sure that you're more than prepared by the time August rolls around! Two new sections have been added to the website as well: Guilds covers the new guild system, with information on guild standards and guidelines as well as information about the people heading up each guild, while Shire Happenings is devoted to the setting unique to our Faire and all the local in-character gossip and events going on.

If you're looking for a schedule of events, have questions or are just wondering what the Renaissance Faire experience is going to be like, our Actor's Information section is likely to be able to answer your queries. The Actor's Application section allows you to submit an application to work at faire online, without the hassle of printing forms and licking envelopes. The Persona Creation section is an informative step-by-step guide to creating and developing your Renaissance Faire "persona", or character, perfect for both those new to the Renaissance Faire and also anyone interested in exploring new avenues of acting. Our Research section contains articles and essays covering a wide range of Renaissance Faire topics, including costuming, history, culture and numerous other things, both interesting and amusing. In our Links section you will find a selection of links to other sites of interest to the Renaissance Faire performer, helpfully captioned and grouped into sections so that you will be able to find just what you are looking for, quickly and easily.

Our goal is to make your experience with our Faire enjoyable and memorable. If you need specific information or assistance not covered in our website, please do not hesitate to e-mail our Performing Arts Director, Amy Forsyth.
